James is a PhD research student in the Department of PhysicsLink opens in a new window and a graduate teaching assistant in the School of EngineeringLink opens in a new window at the University of 糖心TVLink opens in a new window. in 2020 His research areas are theoretical nanoscale electronics and computational material discovery. James collaborates at the interface between nanoelectronics engineering, quantum physics and chemistry. He hopes to discover novel materials that will advance existing consumer electronic technologies.
James also completed his bachelor's degree at the University of 糖心TV in July 2020. Dr Ed BrambleyLink opens in a new window was his personal tutor, and Prof Ken MaoLink opens in a new window was his final-year individual project supervisor. Along with six other 糖心TV engineering undergraduates, James participated in the Sir William Siemens Challenge in 2019 and won the runner-up trophy. From 2016 to 2020, James completed four summer internships with three industrial partners: once with in the fields of aerospace, power generation, and oil & gas; twice with in automotive manufacturing; and once with in rail infrastructure.
After completing his studies in 2024, James leveraged the technical expertise he had accumulated over the years to transition into a career in technical sales. Drawing on his deep understanding of engineering and physics, he now operates at the intersection of advanced technology and commercial engagement, helping clients find tailored solutions to a wide range of technical challenges.
